I am alive!!

Wow, these last few weeks have been a whirlwind.  Even after five years in first grade, the beginning of the year is still just as crazy.  I have to say, though, that I am loving this school year and my sweet class.  I have been so blessed to have Chad and my mom take care of dinners this last week, so I didn't have to cook until this last weekend.  I am hoping that things settle down soon... but we shall see =).  I DID survive the first week, though, and I just wanted to let everyone know that I AM alive!

Meal Planning... this is for you Shavaun!!

Recently, Shavaun has been asking me how I plan out my meals/ grocery store trips.  So here is a little overview of my meal planning strategy.

-First, I make a list of usually 5 meals that I want to make over a two week period (with leftovers, eating out, and eating with family, this is about how many meals I make in 2 weeks).
-Then, I write them down and add sides/ bread etc.
-Next, I write down a list of all the ingredients I will need for all the meals & sides
-From there I start making my grocery list.  I put the items I will need for all the meals, as well as other random things I am buying, in order of how the grocery store is set up.  (If I don't do this I will literally spend hours upon end going from one side of the store to the other)  This way, everything is in order of the aisles and my shopping trip only takes about an hour.

And... VOILA!  Two weeks of meals ready for me to make =)  Easy as pie!

So... I am addicted to pinterest.  They have many great ideas, but I especially love their recipes.  YUM!!  So here are a few I am planning on trying this week.  I haven't made any of them before, but they all look fairly easy and delicious.

Balsamic Glazed Pork Loin in the crock pot

Blueberry Breakfast Cake

Let me know what you think if you decide to try them!
